The knitting is coming along much better now, I'm learning to pay attention and concentrate - something that has been lacking in my life in many areas!
I've finished work now for a few weeks which is just more wonderful than you can imagine and while I'm carrying on with everything involved with the site, I won't be posting for about a week or so - don't all work too hard! I'll think fondly while I sup on a G & T x Wednesday, December 12

I've been knitting, not spinning over the past couple of days and I have to say I'm becoming increasingly frustrated by my lack of ability. I have chosen to use the ugh wool which is really quite nice after all.
My first mistake was asking men who don't knit for advice. (Believe it) These are butch lorry driving shed building men who would not seemingly know a needle from an eyelash curler. Despite that, one gave me excellent advice which turned out to be right and lulled me into a false sense of security. The next one said after I'd dropped a stitch 'My mum just used to pull the knitting off the needle and fix the stitch and then put them back on again. She did it all the time - it's easy' That was the end of that knitting. So I'm humbling myself in my attempts to knit a camisole and it's becoming one of those me against the world type things. I will not be beaten but I cannot promise that the dog won't be kicked! (Just joking Brodie) If you're getting any knitting done at the moment, I hope you're all enjoying yourselves - send me happy competent knitting vibes through the ether... Friday, December 7

You know I don't really want to say this for fear of jinxing the whole thing but it does seem like everything is working again......And the new issue of Knit on the Net is out with our new patterns. We have two, the pink Barbietastic cushion - it will make a four year old girl VERY happy, and the Alice Beanie & Scarf which is soooo cute. The yarn for both items is available from our website at www.lazykate.net which is all shiny and new! We're really pleased with how everything looks, so if you haven't seen it yet, hop over and have a look. There is a beautiful knitted dress on there too.
www.knitonthenet.com ![]() Today is filled with spinning the brown pink ugg fibres which are becoming the yarn version of the Ugly Duckling by the minutes. Definately a grower and not in a wart way. Tomorrow is a knitting lesson with Jinny. I like knitting more and more now that I can do it so I'll be learning a few more stitches and starting to knit something easy. Might light the fire and crack open a bottle of wine to help ease the stitches on! Tuesday, December 4

The problems with the website are dragging on and on, from what I've read, Fasthosts are having hacker trouble. So we're deciding at the moment what to do about changing our host because we can't be having this type of situation all the time! I'm sure a lot of you are in the same situation as us, not particularly computer literate and having to be reliant on others to sort things out, it's very frustrating. I'm not panicking overly but www.knitonthenet.com is out any minute and I want to be ready! Please be patient with us, we're trying our best. Anyway, on a brighter note, the red wool which I went on about the other week and now has gone suspiciously quite has gone to justcallmeruby to be used in a new design. I'm really excited about it because I love that wool and ruby's designs are so good. It's always nice to get a different designers idea's for your wool. I'll let you know of any developments. And I might be eating my own words shortly. Having plied the red/pink/browny wool it doesn't look so bad at all. I think it may well be useable and the dyeing/spinning magic may happen again.

The website has gone down again and I can't tell you how annoyed and frustrated I am about it all! I have a message into the host providers and Jon the wonder boy is on the case as well but I am constantly around about 50 in the queue to speak to an advisor so that kind of says that there are problems across the board.
Please bear with me, the new issue of www.knitonthenet.com is out tomorrow and we have some designs in it so you can imagine the steam coming out of our ears! We will try to get everything up and working again asap. I know I should have a sense of humour about the whole thing but you know, let me near one of those engineers with a knitting needle and I tell you, that site would be back up in a heartbeat! |
